Privacy Policy

Chosen Moment is an independent request and consultation-coordination website. No direct online sale of jewelry or diamonds takes place through this site.
Information you provide
You provide information voluntarily when you use the request or manage-visit forms. Depending on the form, it may include: your name; your phone number; your contact preference (a phone call or a WhatsApp message); an optional email address; a preferred language; the purpose of a consultation; a jewelry or diamond interest; an optional natural / lab-grown preference; an optional custom-design interest; a preferred date and time; the number of visitors; optional accessibility needs; an optional parking-planning answer; and — in Manage Visit — a confirmed appointment date, the requested change (a proposed new date or time, a cancellation, or another question); plus any free-text message you add; and the processing-consent checkbox you tick before sending, and your answer — given or withheld — to the separate, optional agreement about sharing your name and phone number. In addition, when a request is submitted the server records the time it arrived, the language of the page you used, whether delivery succeeded, and a one-way digest of your IP address. The digest is keyed with a secret generated on the server and kept outside the website, so it cannot be turned back into your address by anyone holding a copy of the site. It exists only so that repeated submissions from one connection can be limited, it is held separately from your request, and it stops counting after an hour. It is erased from that file the next time a request is written — this site runs no scheduled task, so the erasure happens when the file is next touched rather than on a clock. It is not part of the record kept for 24 months.
How your request reaches us
When you submit a form, two things happen. Your answers are sent to a server operated for Chosen Moment, which passes them to a Chosen Moment mailbox and keeps a record of them as described under Retention below. Separately, the same answers are assembled into a message and opened in WhatsApp on your own device so that you can read it and send it yourself; if you do not use WhatsApp, that message can instead be opened in your own email application, addressed to hello@chosenmoment.com.
Closing WhatsApp or your email application without sending stops that copy, but it does not withdraw the submission the server has already received. To withdraw it, use the routes under Your choices below.
If you give the separate, optional agreement in the form, Chosen Moment may pass your name and phone number — and nothing else from the request — to a company inside the Israel Diamond Exchange, so that it can contact you directly to coordinate the meeting. Your answer is recorded either way. If you do not give it, no name or phone number is passed on, and Chosen Moment contacts you directly instead. No other transfer to another business occurs.
What is never collected
This website does not collect identity-document numbers, copies, scans, uploads or biometric data — neither for a passport nor for an Israeli Teudat Zehut. The document is simply brought in person on the day of a visit.
How your information is used
Information submitted through the form is used to review and coordinate your request. It is not transferred to another business without your consent. Where coordination requires sharing information, only your name and phone number are shared, and only after the separate, recorded and explicit consent step described above.
Independent third parties
Any company you may later meet or buy from is an independent business and may have its own privacy practices, which are not controlled by Chosen Moment.
Technical logs, cookies and analytics
Hosting infrastructure may produce standard technical logs (for example, server request records) as part of normal operation. This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics, tracking or advertising scripts. Opening WhatsApp hands the message to WhatsApp, which processes it under its own privacy terms. The Request page embeds a Google map for orientation; loading it contacts Google, which may set its own cookies and receive your IP address under Google's privacy terms. If that ever changes, this policy will describe it before it is activated.
At the end of each essay there is a question — was this helpful — with two answers. If you answer it, the answer and the name of that page are recorded, so we can see which subjects readers find useful. Nothing is recorded with it: no name, no address, no identifier and no cookie. The answer cannot be traced back to you, it is never published on the site, and answering is entirely optional.
Retention
A submitted request exists in two places, and both are covered by the same 90 days. The stored record is kept for 90 days and then deleted; deletion runs automatically whenever a new request is written, not only on request, and records are held outside the public area of the website. The copy that arrives by email in the private Chosen Moment mailbox is deleted once your request has been dealt with, and in any case within the same 90 days; that copy is removed by hand rather than by the site.
The record of your consent — that you agreed to your request being handled, and whether you agreed to your name and phone number being passed on — is kept for 24 months, because the proof has to outlive the data it authorised; after that the whole record is deleted.
The Journal list
If you leave an email address on the Journal or on an essay, it is used for one purpose: to tell you when a new essay is published. Nothing else is sent to it — no offers, no advertising, and nothing about visits. The address is not passed to anyone, including the companies inside the Exchange, and it is kept separately from visit requests.
The list is small and the emails are sent by hand. To come off it, write to hello@chosenmoment.com and the address is deleted; every email we send carries the same instruction. Your consent to be on the list is recorded with the address, and both are deleted together when you ask.
Your choices
You may ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of information you sent us, through the routes described on the Contact page. Ask before the periods above expire; after them the record no longer exists to be corrected or produced.
Security
Reasonable measures are taken to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed. The site is served over an encrypted connection; records are stored outside the public area of the website; and your IP address is kept only as a keyed one-way digest rather than as an address.
Changes
This policy may be updated as the service develops. The Contact page describes the public contact routes and their current status.
